Listen to your body: tailoring exercise for optimal fertility

For years, I approached exercise through appearance and performance. When changes in my cycle arrived alongside stress and anxiety, I began questioning whether that routine reflected what my body actually needed.
Redefining exercise as a relationship
During preconception, movement can be less about achieving a certain look and more about fostering wellbeing. Walking, mobility, strength, yoga and rest can all belong—depending on your health, energy and circumstances.

Listening instead of prescribing
Inside Module 8, our conversation with physiotherapist Anne Marie Jensen explores movement, fertility and the idea that balance matters more than strength in any one muscle. The programme presents this as education, not an individual exercise prescription.
- Notice how you feel before, during and after a session.
- Allow intensity and recovery to change rather than forcing the same routine every day.
- Choose movement that brings energy or steadiness, not only measurable performance.
- Seek qualified, individual guidance if you have pain, a health condition or concerns about your cycle.
The most useful movement practice is one that respects your body and can remain part of real life.
